What is Rename?


Definition

Rename is the action of changing the name of a file or folder while leaving its contents and location unchanged. The item remains the same, but its label is updated to provide a more accurate, descriptive, or useful name. This helps improve organization and makes files and folders easier to identify and locate later.

Characteristics
