Cut

What is Cut?

Definition

Cut is the action of removing selected content from its original location and placing it on the clipboard. This action transfers the content so it can be inserted elsewhere while no longer remaining in its original position. This matters because it allows content to be moved efficiently without creating duplicates, which supports clear organisation and controlled editing.
